I don't expect a tank to float away from my skin once saturated. What matters is whether the contact feels abrasive or restrictive. This remained soft and moved with my torso rather than holding in one place. That's a much more useful quality to me than a promise to stay dry in conditions where nothing will.

During short repeats I barely notice clothing. In the longer efforts, especially as sweat builds up, I do. This tank stayed pliable across the chest and didn't start pulling from the straps when I was tired. I liked that the arm openings still felt clear on the last lap, when my technique was considerably less tidy than on the first.

At 41, running is something I'm learning rather than returning to. I like having a piece of kit that makes the whole process feel a bit more enjoyable. The purple is lovely and there's no heavy shirt to deal with when I get hot.

I like the purple and pink design and the soft feel when sweaty. I'd have appreciated a few more fit photos before choosing a size. Now that I have it, the shoulder freedom is exactly what I wanted.

Most of my kit is plain. The angular pink pattern over purple makes this a fun change without sacrificing the fine fabric I want for training.

There's a difference between choosing a colourful top and choosing a running top that happens to have an interesting design. This feels like the latter. The fabric has enough flexibility that the pattern doesn't come with a stiff printed feel, and the shoulder cut gives me space to move. I would still like it in a plain colour, which is usually how I know the underlying garment is doing its job.

The pink pattern is easy to recognise in a group shot. Also comfortable for the actual running before the photo, which seems worth mentioning.

I'm following a beginner plan with timed walks. Usually the shirt starts bothering me when I stop running. This sat more comfortably against my chest instead of feeling like something I needed to peel away at every break.

My friends keep asking about the purple and pink. I keep telling them the fabric is the better part. Both are good reasons to like it.

Useful when your gym bag is already a disaster.

You don't need an exotic training camp to enjoy nice material. Mine gets its exercise around the same suburban streets every week.

Most of my running happens before uni, which means kit has to be ready without much planning. This is easy to wash, dries readily and takes almost no space on the rack. Also a much better colour choice than my old grey tee.

My sister bought me this because she was tired of seeing the same faded top in every running photo. Fair criticism. The upgrade in how it feels was a much bigger surprise than the colour.

The singlet does the interesting part. The rest of my outfit can stay very simple.

I spent more time choosing kit than planning my pacing. At least one of those choices worked out. The tank was soft around my arms and I didn't have to keep straightening it while moving. Walked up to my flat still wearing it and didn't feel wrapped in wet fabric. A welcome little detail at the end.

Our route has lots of corners and little changes of direction. I appreciate how easily the fabric follows my upper body rather than tugging across it.

My upper arms brush my sides more when climbing. The smooth material was particularly welcome there.

That's how I now identify it when deciding what to wear.

The neck and shoulder area felt comfortable through warm up drills. I dislike feeling hemmed in before I even start running.

The purple base with pink shapes is brilliant. I was sold before I read the fabric details.

43 g on the product description made me curious. Holding it makes that number less abstract.

Most of my running purchases are replacements for things that have worn out. This was an enjoyable exception. I chose it because I loved the purple design, then found it was the nicest thing in the drawer to put on for a warm morning. Being in my sixties hasn't made me less interested in colour. It has made me less willing to tolerate uncomfortable kit, and this passes that test nicely.

The straps feel comfortable. The material feels gentle. I like wearing it.

Went out for a short jog and felt like carrying on. The tank was still comfortable when the plan changed. Nice when your clothing isn't what sends you home.

Purple and pink beats another early alarm. Well, almost.

The novelty of a new design wears off. The pleasant feel of the fabric hasn't.
